Today’s a big day for those interested in space – as Elon Musk’s company SpaceX test launches its Starship rocket.
The world’s biggest rocket at 120 metres tall, it aims to one day help humans get to Mars and the Moon.
For now, Starship – comprised of both a spacecraft of the same name and a Super Heavy rocket booster – hopes to leave the Earth’s atmosphere and orbit during the test, as well as have the Super Heavy booster achieve a partial vertical landing.
However, Musk tempered expectations for the test launch, sharing in a chat on Twitter: ‘If we get far enough away from the launch pad before something goes wrong then I would consider that a success.’
