People are flocking to Truth Social, the social media website founded by former US President Donald Trump, ahead of his indictment.
Traffic has surged on the site since the indictment was announced, according to Similarweb, a website traffic monitoring company.
Based on the research, Truth Social’s traffic increased from 4.5 million visits in February to 5.8 million visits in March, largely thanks to the news surrounding Trump’s indictment.
Trump is known to use Truth Social to air his views, including reacting to news about the indictment.
On March 18, when Trump shared the news predicting that he would be indicted, traffic on the website spiked 140%. That’s around 398,000 visits to the app, possibly checking for updates.
When Trump was finally indicted on March 31, the app gained an extra 314,000 visits.
Since March 1, the fairly new social media site has averaged about 200,000 visits from the United States each day. This data does not include traffic to Truth Social’s Apple or Android apps, so the number of active Truth Social users is likely much higher.

Trump launched Truth Social in 2022, as an alternative to Twitter and Facebook, after he was banned on both following his social media posts about the US Capitol attacks on January 6, 2021.
In a press release, the Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) said its mission was ‘to create a rival to the liberal media consortium and fight back against the “Big Tech” companies of Silicon Valley, which have used their unilateral power to silence opposing voices in America’.
