In case you hadn’t spotted, earlier this year WhatsApp released a poll function – and given there are one or two polls going on around the country this week (local elections FYI), it seems a good time for a refresher on how to use them.
Luckily, they’re very simple.
1. Open the conversation with the person or group you want to send the poll too.
2. Click on the plus sign or paperclip icon depending on whether you’re on iOS or Android, and select ‘Poll’.
3. Enter your question, followed by up to 12 multiple choice answers – and be sure to toggle off ‘allow multiple answers’ if you want firm feedback.
You can also click and drag answers to change the order.
5. When you’re happy with the poll, simply hit send.
6. Voting is easy, simply click on your preferred answer – and unlike the election, you can change your mind afterwards and pick another option.
7. To remove your vote entirely, click on your choice again.
One more thing to note – everyone sent the poll can see who voted for what. At least that rules out rigging the results…
MORE : You can now use the same WhatsApp account on multiple phones
MORE : WhatsApp will let you save disappearing messages – but only if the sender agrees
